My pre-40th Duchess Party

My pre-40th Duchess Party at home..2015

Duchess Tricia

This was a stunning party that was made possible by my dearest friend Anita Greyvenstein. We created a Duchess feel by sourcing antique décor from all over (friends and local shops), chose a simple menu that was a High Tea menu and used loads of lace to give it an English feel. Our ladies dressed in lace and hats and was welcomed with champagne. Thereafter High Tea was served. We then changed into gowns and slippers and had a massage (mobile massage parlour) in my garden. One lady at a time went upstairs to have a full back massage - we turned the upstairs suite into a massage room filled with candles and soft music. Dads and kids were at the park enjoying a braai and joined us after the party..it was a memorable evening to celebrate my 39th birthday (hence pre-40th)!

Pinterest helped a lot with my party ideas..

High Tea Menu: scones, cupcakes, éclairs, Greek platter, chicken platter, vegetarian platter

Ladies party favours: Marks and Spencer sweets for their handbags, little treasure chest filled with a mini vanity mirror and a costume-jewellery pearl necklace.

Kids at the park: hotdogs, cupcakes, sweets and snacks. Their party favour was filled with a box of sweets and trinkets.

Daddies braaing (South African term for barbecue) : braai meat, salads, drinks and snacks with a  deck of cards to keep them going.
